About AIRI
AIRI is a virtual companion inspired by AI VTubers such as Neuro-sama. The desktop app puts an animated Live2D or VRM character on your screen that you can talk to by text or voice; it answers through a language model, speaks with synthesized voices, and blinks and looks around on its own.
You bring the model: it connects to OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, OpenRouter and many other providers, or to models you run yourself through Ollama or vLLM. Speech output can use cloud services such as ElevenLabs or a local voice model. The character can also chat in Discord and Telegram and play Minecraft, with support for more games in progress.
The project describes itself as early in development. Separate DMGs are published for Apple silicon and Intel Macs, alongside a web version and mobile builds.
