About Android Rapid Transfer
Android Rapid Transfer moves photos, videos and other files between an Android phone and a Mac over a USB cable. You browse the phone's storage in a list or grid and drag files either way. The app has its own MTP engine written in Swift, so it needs no drivers or kernel extensions. The project compares it with Google's Android File Transfer and reports faster folder listings in its own tests. It suits people who move photos and videos from a phone to a Mac without a cloud sync app.
It needs macOS 14 or later and is a universal build. The disk image is signed with a Developer ID and notarized. The app has no accounts or telemetry, but it checks for updates through Sparkle. The phone's USB link limits copy speed, and some cables only charge. The speed figures in the README come from one phone and are not a benchmark suite.
