About Anki Miner
Anki Miner reads the subtitles of a video, an audiobook or a book, splits the text into words, and skips the ones you already know. For each remaining word it can attach a screenshot, an audio clip and a dictionary definition, then sends the finished cards to Anki. Definitions come from offline dictionaries you add, such as Yomitan dictionaries. It has a desktop GUI and is aimed at people learning a language from native media.
The Apple silicon DMG in this entry needs Anki with the AnkiConnect add-on. The README also lists an Intel DMG and does not state a minimum macOS version. The README says the app is not notarized, so the first launch is blocked until you open it again from the dialog and choose Open Anyway in System Settings. The source is GPL-3.0, so modified copies must stay under the same license.
