About Coverwall
Coverwall is a screensaver that fills the display with a mosaic of album covers. It can use what you play in the Spotify desktop app, which needs no login. With a connected Spotify account it can also show recently played tracks, top tracks or Liked Songs. A small menu bar app keeps a local cache of up to 200 covers, and the screensaver only reads that cache. It is for people who listen on Spotify and want their listening on screen while the Mac is idle.
The README does not state a macOS version or whether the build is notarized; the project's deployment target is macOS 14.0. Spotify limits development-mode apps to an invited list of accounts. If you are not on it, you can register your own Spotify developer app, which requires a Spotify Premium account, or use the no-login mode. The README says the app has no analytics and sends nothing to a backend.
