About DeskPad
DeskPad adds a virtual display to your Mac and mirrors it inside an ordinary app window. Share that window in a video call and the audience sees a whole desktop at a resolution they can read, while your real screens stay private. macOS treats DeskPad like a newly plugged-in monitor, so you drag windows onto it and change its resolution in System Settings.
When the pointer moves onto the virtual display, DeskPad highlights its title bar and brings the window to the front. It needs macOS 13 or later and may need Screen Recording permission before it shows anything; if the window stays blank, the README suggests turning that permission off and on again. The latest release is 1.3.2 from October 2024.
