About Feather
Feather is a writing assistant. Press a shortcut, describe what you want, and it drafts text from the window you are in, the focused field and optionally a screenshot. The reply can be pasted into the field, copied, or refined with follow-up instructions. It suits people who write many chat messages, emails or forms and want to use their own OpenAI, Claude or OpenCode Go key.
Requires macOS 14 or later, with separate Apple silicon and Intel DMGs. The Mac builds are signed with a Developer ID and notarized by Apple, which we checked on the arm64 DMG of v1.0.14. It needs Accessibility and Screen Recording permissions, and Screen Recording is required even when screenshots are switched off. Feather Plus is an optional paid hosted tier that sends requests through the author's server to the model provider. Bringing your own key stays free.
