About osu!
osu! is a rhythm game in which you hit circles, follow sliders and spin to the beat of songs, using a mouse, tablet, touch screen or keyboard. Besides the standard mode it includes taiko drumming, catch and a keyboard-based mania mode, and players can download a large library of community-made beatmaps or build their own in the editor.
This is "lazer", the open-source rewrite that is replacing the original Windows-only client. Online play, rankings and beatmap downloads need a free osu! account. Builds are provided for macOS 12 or later on Apple silicon and Intel.
The game code is MIT licensed, but the bundled game resources such as artwork and sounds are under a separate non-commercial Creative Commons license, and the osu! and ppy names are trademarks.
