About Purr
Purr is a dictation app for Apple silicon Macs. Hold Right Option, speak, and the words are typed into the text field under the cursor. It can also record meetings into Markdown notes with speaker labels, and it can rewrite selected text from a spoken instruction. It suits anyone who wants dictation that runs on the Mac.
The README requires an Apple silicon Mac on macOS 14 or later, macOS 14.2 or later to record other people on a call, and Apple Intelligence on macOS 26 or a 3.35 GB model download for summaries and Voice Edit. The first run downloads a speech model of about 450 MB. The README does not say whether the build is notarized. Purr goes online only to download models and check GitHub for updates.
