About ShadowsocksX-NG
ShadowsocksX-NG connects your Mac to a Shadowsocks server you already have access to and exposes it as a local proxy. Server profiles, global or PAC-based routing, and toggling are handled from the menu bar.
It does not provide servers itself. The latest release, 1.10.3, dates from October 2024, and Homebrew disabled its cask in 2026 because the build fails Gatekeeper checks.
