About Hertzwise
Hertzwise changes the output sample rate of a DAC to match each track played by Apple Music or Tidal, so a lossless track plays at its own rate instead of being resampled by macOS. It can also apply a volume stage for DACs that ignore the Mac's volume control, and a headphone EQ that you switch on per output device. It is for listeners with a dedicated DAC who use Apple Music or Tidal. The project is open source under MIT.
Requires macOS 15 or later. The build is not notarized; the README tells you to clear the quarantine flag once, after which the app updates itself. Rate switching works with Apple Music and with Tidal when Tidal's exclusive mode is off. YouTube Music is listed as planned.
