Music players

A music player plays audio from a local library, internet radio or a streaming service, and organises tracks into albums, artists and playlists. The apps below include players for your own files, lightweight menu bar players and desktop clients for online services.

Look at which audio formats a player supports, how it reads and edits tags and cover art, and whether it responds to the Mac's media keys. Clients for streaming services are often unofficial and may need an account with that service.
