About Vuvuzela

Vuvuzela is a widget that sits on the desktop, below your app windows, and showed the groups, matches and knockout bracket of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The group table colours teams that qualify directly and the best third-placed teams differently, and standings updated during live group-stage matches. You can star favourite teams to highlight them and to get macOS notifications when their goals go in or their match kicks off. It suits football fans who want the tournament on the desktop rather than in a browser tab.

It needs macOS 14 or later, and the release build is signed and notarized. You can drag the widget, lock its position, resize it and choose one of four opacity levels; it checks for updates through Sparkle. Building from source needs the Swift 6 toolchain from the Command Line Tools. The features are built around the 2026 tournament, so its usefulness depends on that event.
