Free, open-source alternatives to Punto Switcher

A keyboard layout tool that converts text typed in the wrong layout, such as Latin keystrokes meant as Cyrillic.

Punto Switcher fixes the familiar mistake of typing a word while the wrong keyboard layout is active, turning a string of Latin letters back into the Russian word you meant, or the other way round. The open-source apps below do the same core job on the Mac: they convert mistyped text into the intended layout with a hotkey.

LangSwitcher converts selected text, the last word or the mistyped part of a line when you press its hotkey. RuSwitcher retypes the last word after a tap on a modifier key, can optionally fix words automatically as you type, and works over Apple Screen Sharing.
