About DayDream
DayDream keeps a searchable timeline of your Mac: the apps and windows you used, the Chrome pages you visited and, if you allow it, what you typed. You search one word and jump to that moment with the window or page you had open. It also writes short daily notes, and AI apps you connect can ask it about your own recent work. It is for people who want to find something they saw or did earlier, without screenshots or an account.
It requires an Apple silicon Mac running macOS 15 or later. The app is signed and notarized by Apple, and its maker calls it beta software. Typed words are encrypted, and the exact words are deleted after 7 days unless you choose another period. DayDream sends anonymous usage counts to PostHog about once an hour; the switch is in Settings › Advanced. Local summaries need about 8 GB of memory, and cloud summaries run only if you add your own OpenRouter key.
