About LiteZip
LiteZip creates and extracts ZIP, 7Z and TAR archives, including gzip, bzip2, xz and zstd variants, and opens RAR, ZIPX and many other formats. It can password-protect archives, split large files into volumes, and preview an archive's contents or check its integrity before extracting. Actions are available from a right-click menu in Finder and by dropping files on the menu bar icon. It suits people who want a small archiver that works without an account.
It requires macOS 13 or later and is a universal build for Apple silicon and Intel. The download is Developer ID signed and notarized. The author labels version 0.6.2 a development preview. Creating RAR archives needs the official RAR engine, which LiteZip can download from RARLAB; that engine has its own license, and the bundled third-party notices are kept with the app's assets.
