About Tercana
Tercana sits in the menu bar and translates subtitles from PS Remote Play. You choose the subtitle area once, and each new line is read on the Mac and translated over the original, usually in well under a second. It also translates any text on screen with a shortcut, keeps a subtitle history, and includes a trophy hub with PSN rarity, goals and guide links. It suits players who stream PlayStation games to a Mac and want subtitles in their own language. The project is independent and not affiliated with Sony.
Tercana requires a Mac with Apple silicon running macOS 26 or later. The app is not notarized, so the first launch has to be allowed in System Settings under Privacy & Security; the README suggests right-click and Open. It asks for Screen Recording permission and needs a language pack downloaded in Settings. Reading and translation run on the Mac with Apple's frameworks, and the README says no subtitles, screenshots or analytics leave the computer.
