About VolEq
VolEq evens out voice volume in online meetings. It lifts quiet speech and keeps loud speech under control, so people who sound far away are easier to hear without adjusting the volume during the call. It can process one audio-producing app or the whole device output, and it runs from a window or the menu bar. It is for people who often miss what quieter participants say.
It requires an Apple silicon Mac running macOS 14.2 or later. The DMG is signed with a Developer ID and notarized by Apple. On first use, macOS asks for System Audio Recording permission. The default speech-aware mode adds about 30 ms of latency, levels the combined audio rather than each participant, and may treat singing as speech. VolEq collects no telemetry and checks for updates only when you ask it to or enable that check. A paid VolEq Pro is planned, not available.
