About Who Stole My Focus
Who Stole My Focus logs every app that comes to the front and sorts the switches into those you made and those that happened on their own. When an app takes focus while you are typing, the menu bar icon changes and the menu names the app, what it took focus from and how long it stayed in front. A top-offenders view and CSV export help with bug reports to the app's developer. It suits anyone whose typing keeps landing in the wrong window.
The README says it needs no permissions, has no network access and never sees which keys you press or what windows contain; it only knows how long ago you last typed or clicked. Requires macOS 14 or later, on Apple silicon or Intel. The README says the app is not notarized yet, so the first launch needs Open Anyway under System Settings > Privacy & Security. The log keeps the last 5,000 switches on the Mac.
