App uninstallers
Open-source app cleaners and uninstallers for Mac that remove an app together with the preferences, caches and support files it leaves behind.
Dragging an app to the Trash removes the app bundle but usually leaves its preferences, caches, containers and launch agents in your Library folder. An app cleaner finds those leftovers and removes them together with the app, so uninstalling actually frees the space and resets the app's settings.
Matching leftovers to an app is partly guesswork, so look for tools that show every file before deleting it and move items to the Trash rather than erasing them. Some of these apps are broader cleaners or Homebrew front ends with uninstalling as one feature among several.
