About Amanu
Amanu records online meetings automatically when a call starts in apps such as Zoom, Google Meet, Telegram or WhatsApp, without sending a bot into the meeting. It separates the speakers, writes a summary and keeps each meeting as an ordinary folder on your computer. Transcription can run locally with Parakeet, Whisper or GigaAM models, or through AssemblyAI, OpenAI or ElevenLabs. Summaries can come from Claude Code, Codex, Anthropic, OpenAI or a local Ollama model.
It requires macOS 14.2 or later. The app is a universal build, but local transcription and the live transcript need Apple silicon, and the README says Intel has not been validated on physical hardware. According to the README, the macOS release is signed with a Developer ID and notarized. Anonymous product-usage reporting is on by default, and you can turn it off during setup or in Settings.
