About Golosok
Golosok is a dictation app for macOS that runs its speech model on the Mac. Press Option+Space to start recording and press it again to stop, or hold the key for push-to-talk; the transcript is pasted into whatever field has the cursor. It can also transcribe audio and video files such as MP3, WAV, M4A, MP4 and WebM. The README says inference runs locally and audio never leaves the Mac. It suits people who dictate in Russian, English or a mix of both and do not want a cloud service.
It requires an Apple silicon Mac running macOS 13 or later, and the Microphone and Accessibility permissions. The README says the project is distributed without a paid Apple Developer ID and gives xattr -cr as the way past Gatekeeper's first-launch block, or Control-click › Open. The disk image is about 260 MB.
