About HideNotch

HideNotch paints the menu bar black on MacBooks with a notch, so the cutout blends into the bar instead of standing out. A switch in the menu bar panel turns it on or off, and an option rounds the corners of the screen. It can also include external displays without a notch and paints the bar into a copy of your wallpaper, so the black stays visible when many windows reach the top of the screen. Turning it off or quitting puts your original wallpaper back.

It suits people who find the notch distracting and want a single toggle rather than a full menu bar tool. The app needs macOS 26 or later. The release DMG is signed with a Developer ID and notarized by Apple. Known limits: the notch stays visible on the lock screen and login window, animated wallpapers such as aerials cannot be painted (the black bar fades once 10 or more windows reach the top), and Screen Time's Downtime can hide the overlay.
