About Cornetta
Cornetta is a menu bar call recorder. One click starts recording whatever calling app you use, including WhatsApp, FaceTime, Google Meet, Zoom, Teams, Slack, Discord and browser calls. Your microphone and the other participants' audio go to separate tracks, and the call is saved as one m4a file in your Music folder. It needs no virtual audio driver and no account. On macOS 26 it also transcribes each call on the Mac with Apple's speech recognition, attributing your voice separately from the others. The interface and code comments are in Italian.
It requires macOS 14.4 or later, on Apple silicon or Intel as a universal app. The DMG is signed with a local certificate rather than a registered Apple developer identity, and it is not notarized, so the first launch needs System Settings > Privacy & Security > Open Anyway. It asks for Microphone and system audio recording permissions the first time you record. The project says it sends anonymous usage data and that you can turn this off; the README does not say whether it is on by default.
